About the IB MYP Programme<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) is an all-encompassing educational curriculum designed for students aged 11 to 16, covering grades 6 to 10.<\/p>

Built on the foundation of the International Baccalaureate philosophy, the MYP offers a unique and demanding framework that goes beyond conventional learning, focusing on the holistic development of students’ intellectual, personal, emotional, and social skills. Serving as a seamless pathway to the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), the MYP ensures a smooth transition for students aspiring toward a challenging and globally recognized pre-university qualification.<\/p>

The MYP curriculum framework comprises eight subject groups, providing a broad and\u00a0balanced education for early adolescents.<\/span> In the final two years of the programme, carefully-defined subject group flexibility allows students to meet local requirements and personal learning goals.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

In years 4 and 5, students have the option to take courses from six of the eight subject groups within certain limits, to provide greater flexibility in meeting local requirements and individual student learning needs. Each year, students in the MYP also engage in at least one collaboratively planned interdisciplinary unit that involves at least two subject groups.<\/p>

MYP students also complete a long-term project, where they decide what they want to learn about, identify what they already know, discover what they will need to know to complete the project and create a proposal or criteria for completing it.<\/p>

The Middle Years Programme is a Universal Learning Programme taught in nearly 100 countries<\/strong> of the world and its students are present all across the world. Any student aged 11 to 16<\/strong>, can access the MYP at schools that have been approved to execute the programme. And, any school teaching students in this age range may apply to implement the MYP and change into an IB World School. The MYP is inclusive in the structure; students with a wide range of academic abilities, nuanced understanding and varied interests can take advantage of their participation. Implementing the MYP as a whole-school effort, although the MYP may include academically-selective models.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
